About our Speaker
A lifetime of learning...
The following is a glimpse into over 35 years of education and experience that led to the creation of Fur Babies Wholesome Pet Food. I continue to learn, always eager to discover more…

My journey began with a solid foundation in formal education, focusing on veterinary medicine, biology, environmental science, and medical laboratory technology. As I delved deeper into each field, I noticed a recurring theme: the undeniable connection between nutrition, whole foods, and health. While I was researching the impact of the food system on human health, I also focused on improving the quality of life for my own fur babies.
Professionally, I've held a wide variety of positions, all centered around science. After returning to college several times to further my education, it became clear to me: the root cause of many health issues - both for humans and pets - lies in our food, water, and environment.
On a personal level, I was constantly at the vet with my own pets. Over the years, despite feeding them top-tier kibble, canned, and "minimally processed" foods, I watched them battle countless diseases and disorders. You name it, one of my fur babies had it!
Long story short, the processed pet food I was feeding them was directly affecting their health -NEGATIVELY. Fast forward a few years -- and enter the BARF diet: Biologically Appropriate Raw Food, also known as the Bone And Raw Food diet.

In 2015, I made the decision to feed my pets a commercial raw diet. The transformation was drastic and undeniable, and I swore never to feed anything else again. The results were nothing short of astounding. While each pet's journey was unique, one thing became clear - I no longer lived at the vet's office and my fur babies were thriving. The pets that were ill showed remarkable improvement, and the others never got sick! I felt like I was conducting a live biological experiment in my own home, witnessing daily the incredible changes in health and vitality. It was life-altering, to say the least.

But my journey didn't stop there. I delved even deeper into pet nutrition, taking specialized courses for both dogs and cats. What I uncovered about the pet food industry - especially the dry kibble industry - was devastating. The reality behind the scenes was far from pretty.
To further my education, I completed various courses on raw feeding and pet nutrition, attended seminars, summits, and conferences, and read many influential books, including Feeding Dogs by Dr. Conor Brady, which was a game changer.

In addition to feeding my pets commercial raw diets, I began preparing my own pet food, continually refining the sourcing of ingredients as I learned more. It's incredibly fulfilling to know that what my pets are consuming is pure, whole food - free from by-products, antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, and GMOs. Just as I carefully select the commercial raw brands I use, I ensure that all ingredients are pasture-raised and finished meats and organs (no by-products or waste), alongside organic fruits and vegetables. My pets are living proof of the benefits of a healthy, natural diet.

In July 2022, I opened Fur Babies Wholesome Pet Food with the mission to educate pet owners about the dangers of kibble and the remarkable benefits of feeding a raw diet. While it's been an uphill battle, my goal remains the same: to help transform other pets into the vibrant, carnivorous beings they are meant to be, supporting them in living their happiest, healthiest lives. The reward of seeing pets thrive on raw food is beyond measure.

Fur Babies WPF is my independent, small business. I built it from the ground up, personally vetting every product I carry. I will never sacrifice health for profit, which is why you won't find the typical 'mainstream' products or labels here that you see in other pet stores. I take immense pride and care in what I do, and I'm constantly striving to learn more. After all, if I wouldn't feed it or use it for my own fur babies, I wouldn't offer it to you.
