DaySchool Program

The CrossRoads DaySchool Program is

designed for your dog to learn new skills while you are at work.

We will teach your dog how to fasten their seatbelts

and help steer them in the right direction down their training road.

Through our positive dog training methods

we help create a mental, physical, social, and emotional balanced plan for your dog.

The program is divided into two levels, one beginner and one advanced level.

Training is a journey, not a destination.

This program is not designed for dogs that have severe behavioral issues.

About The Program

This Program is for dog’s 8 weeks of age and up.
This program in not designed for dogs that have behavioral issues. Ask about our Behavior Modification options.
DaySchool is everyone Tuesday and Thursday currently only offered at Pet's & Moore in San Marcos, Texas.
All dog’s must pass a training test to graduate into the Highway level.
Dogs can be dropped off between 7:00am and 9:30am. Pickup is from 4:30pm to 7:00pm.
All dog’s get a nap time from 12:30pm to 2pm with a food puzzle toy or frozen Kong.
You are welcome to pack a lunch for your dogs that under the age of 8 months old and please pre-bag each meal individually. Reminder, that your dogs are earning treats throughout the day and do not recommend feeding lunch over the age of 8 months.
Please DO NOT feed a big breakfast before drop-off. Dogs will be earning treats as they learn new skills and we want to help maintain an ideal weight for their body style.
All dogs are expected to attend Dayschool every Tuesday and Thursday while they are enrolled in this program. Consistency is key in training dogs!
If you have an emergency and cannot bring your dog one day or do not have someone else that can drop them off, we will cover your first absence. Each dog gets one absence per month. After the first absent day is used we require payment for any future missed days to hold your dog's spot in DaySchool.
Your dog is in this program indefinitely unless we receive an email of cancellation 3 days prior to their last day of school.
Vaccinations required. DHPP and Rabies before they start DaySchool.
We DO NOT require Bordetella, Lyme, or Canine Influenza.
Dogs must be on current heart-worm preventive and dewormer program.
Since we specialize in performance dogs that may compete in dog sports, We do accept intact/unaltered males and females in our DaySchool program. We take extra time and care in our intact/unaltered dog’s to make they stay separate at all times while with us. They will be grouped with altered pets or same sex unaltered dogs. Females in season are allowed to participate in the DaySchool program, but will not partake in any group play. We ask that all unaltered female dog owners be responsible and keep track of their dog’s cycles.

Our DaySchool Program is taking a holiday break!

BackRoads Level

This level we focus on teaching the dog all of the skills listed above on leash first.
We start proofing these skills by slowing asking the dog to preform the skills with duration and distance.
Continue proofing the skills by asking the dog the preform the skills around other dogs and other distractions.
Next we ask the dog to start preforming skills off-leash.
Then proof skills off-leash by asking dog to do skills with duration and distance.
Preform skills in the presents of other dogs off-leash.
Proper play and responding to trainers during group exercise.
Pass test to graduate to the HighWay level.

Program Includes:

A report card on their first day
Receive a training starter bag.
Daily verbal, pictures, video, and/or report cards
Every month we will do a free Parent-Teacher night. It is where you can ask additional questions about your dog, practice training, and socialize with other dog owners.

HighWay Level

This level is for dogs that graduate from the BackRoads level of Dayschool
Practice skills around scent, sound and visual distractions on and off-leash.
Practice skills around other dogs in group activities.
Perform all of the skills listed above reliably around other dogs and distractions.
