Jordan Holdsworth CCPDT-KSA, CGC

Jordan grew up Austin, Texas with her 2 older sisters and parents. At a young age she enjoyed helping her dad after school and at weekend at his business, Freightliner of Austin. After graduating high school Jordan decided to be a massage therapist. Once she earned her certification as a massage therapist she was able to help many people with injuries or reoccurring pain. Even though she enjoyed this job it was not quite for filling for her. She always had a passion for animals and absolutely loved dogs. When it came time to renew her massage therapist certification she had decided to take a different direction and explore dog training.

As soon as she started exploring the world of dog training I am meeting with some of the cutting edge positive dog trainers, she knew she had found where she belongs.

A passion ignited in Jordan, she hit the books and studied about dog body language training methods and behavior. Taking what she already knew as a massage therapist and integrating it into dog body movements helped many veterinarians diagnose what was causing dogs that she was training pain within their mobility. Many dogs she was able to notice a change in their stride and after a quick vet visit veterinarians were able to help dogs with early onset hip dysplasia or other chronic joint issues. With many of her training dogs no longer experiencing pain she was able to bored email help their owners change the dogs unwanted behavior.

Jordan absolutely loves going to dog training and behavior conferences. She has attended many seminars and had the opportunity to work with some of the top positive reinforcement trainers in the world. She enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest studies and research that is happening in the dog training industry.

Jordan quickly earned her first certification the CCPDT-KA after that she continued to study and gain more experience working with many different types of dog breeds. Not long after having her CCPDT-KA she had decided to earn her CCPDT-KSA.

As a dog trainer Jordan has had many opportunities to work with dogs that have had extreme anxiety to he activity and/or aggression. She has helped many of her clients understand dog behavior and help them create a stronger bond with their dog.

She enjoys working with many different types of dogs and even had the opportunity to work with wolves and foxes. learning firsthand from these beautiful wildlife creatures she was able to study how they interacted socially with each other. She was also able to see how they interacted with their caregivers with the use of positive reinforcement. From being excepted buy a wolf kissing her or clicker training with a fox Jordan definitely has an understanding of body language and behavior of close relatives to our domestic dog.

Jordan definitely both wild and domestic animals. She actually has two sugar gliders named Stitch and Scrat. They are both very spoiled little creatures that may have more enrichment toys than some of her dogs. Besides her sugar gliders she has three wonderful rescue Staffordshire terrier mixes named Jasper, Cassi and, Indiana Jones.

Jasper is Jordan 10 your old Service dog that she has had since he was a puppy. Cassi technically her husband Chris's dog but she loves Jordan so much that most of the time she chooses to snuggle with her on the couch. Jordan and her husband Chris decided that they needed one more dog in their lives after they had lost their beloved pug named, Frank.

So alone came a rescue pup named, Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones is it as smart as a whip and loves to communicate with buttons.

Cassi is the diva of the family and loves having mother daughter spa days with Jordan. Cassi enjoys being wrapped up in her doggy robe with a cooling mask on her eyes getting her nails done and painted. She definitely enjoys the pampered pooch life!

Meanwhile, Mr. Jasper the oldest fella in the house is enjoying some retirement time from being Jordans full-time tasked trained service dog.

Jordan spent many of hours training Jasper and enjoyed every minute of it. Seeing what Jasper could do for her, she decided to explore training service dogs for other people.

She spent several months studying Service dogs and service dog task. She has been able to help train mini service dogs and especially for military veterans. With her husband Chris being now a military veteran she understands and wants to work with more servicemen and women to help them train their own service dog or help them find a service dog candidate. She has seen firsthand what Service dogs can do for military veterans that maybe dealing with PTSD or other disabilities. There is definitely a supply and demand issue when it comes to service dogs especially for our military and Jordan would like to help even those numbers and make service dogs for veterans easier to train or receive

Besides helping with training service dogs for people and working with pet dogs that may have behavior issues or just need some basic manners.

Jordan has decided that she is actively pursuing her canine behavior certification to help other dogs that may have behavioral issues such as separation anxiety, reactivity, aggression and more. Jordan absolutely loves constantly learning about dogs and wants to have as many tools in her training tool box help any client fix any problem or issue.

When Jordan is not training dogs, she enjoys going on little day trip's with her husband to Fredericksburg, visiting family in Oklahoma, and or watching movies on the couch snuggled up with her three dogs. Also loves to decorate and Hobby Lobby is one of her favorite stores ever!

One thing for sure Jordan is a natural with dogs and helping their humans understand them. Jordan looks forward to working with you at CrossRoads Dog Academy very soon with your canine companion.
